Residential Welfare Staff - Galway Atlantic Language Galway is recruiting Residential Welfare Staff for our English summer camp which runs from 28 June 2019 to 28 July 2019 The Residential Welfare team are responsible for the welfare of all students staying on campus accommodation for the duration of the summer school programme. Role responsibilities Provide a warm welcome for students and group leaders Prepare welcome packs for new students Help students settle in, adjust to their new environment & understand personal safety guidelinesEnsure students understand school & accommodation rules Liaise with accommodation management to resolve any issues quickly Supervise free time, meal times and lights outPrioritise safety and student welfare at all times.Comply fully with all Atlantic Language policies and procedures Encourage and motivate students to participate in all organised activitiesEncourage & facilitate opportunities for students to practise English To attend daily briefings with Residential Team Leader and/or Centre ManagerTo assist with student arrivals and departures as requiredAccompany students to medical centre / A & E as requiredTake emergency phone overnight on rotational basisBe professional in dealings with external stakeholders, partners, group leaders, students and colleagues at all timesRequirementsExcellent interpersonal skillsFluent English speaker with good communication skillsFlexible, enthusiastic and highly motivatedProven leadership and teamworking skillsMust be available to attend training and induction prior to commencementMust be eligible to work in Ireland Must enjoy working with young peopleIT literate Desirable· Previous experience in a similar role· Occupational First Aid qualification· Previous experience in a customer service roleOther· Training will be provided· Accommodation provided
