Maintenance Operative

To assist with management of the environments of all properties of Ashdale Care, to ensure an effective, budgeted and safe service is provided. The list does not represent priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly reviewed by the Post Holder, in consultation and agreement with the Line Manager.Painting and decorating as requiredJoinery - first line maintenance of fixtures and fittings eg. minor repairsPlumbing - first line maintenanceTo undertake general handypersons duties as requested by the Estates ManagerEstablish and participate in a formal, robust out of hours support service, in which you will partake and also ensure the participation of Approved Contractors and others, to include taking of immediate action when faced with an emergencyPlan and undertake general grounds maintenance to include, snow clearing, grass cutting, hedges, weeding, planting, upkeep of fencing and woodwork, clear gutters, clean facia boards and eaves, prepare waste for collection, window cleaning, power washing, interior and exterior painting and general DIY To carry out any tasks in compliance with the Health And Safety policies and statutory regulations.All staff of Ashdale Care are expected to promote the safety and welfare of the children in our care, as well as colleagues. Therefore, Garda vetting is carried out in respect of all appointments and the successful candidate will be expected to facilitate this process.Essential Criteria Minimum two years relevant experience in similar roleSafe Pass HolderManual HandlingAbility to plan, target and achieve in respect of multiple, concurrent tasks;Computer literateFlexible and Pro-active approach to working hours and tasksWilling to travel to cover Monaghan, Meath & LouthCar Owner / Driver with full driving licence for minimum of 12 months.Have or be prepared to undertake study in Health & Safety, Fire Safety, First Aid and any other training deemed beneficial.Personal Criteria Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a teamHighly motivatedAttention to detailExcellent communication skills in both written and spoken EnglishAbility to work to deadlinesFlexible and able to interact with people at all levelsFor more information or to express interest please submit your CV.
