Head of Agency & Key Client Sales

Reporting to the Group Sales Director, the Head of Agency & Key Client Sales will be responsible for the delivery of advertising revenue and growth in market share for the business across the publishing platforms. The role holder will also be responsible for establishing and developing close relationships with advertising agencies and key clients and deploying advertising strategies.Roles and Responsibilities • Responsible for driving agency, and direct client relationships for the purpose of maximizing revenue for the publishing business.• Setting activity and revenue targets for the sales team.• Managing a team of account directors and account managers to constantly meet and exceedtargets and KPI’s.• Designing and proposing creative solutions, advertising proposals and partnership packages.• Maintaining and developing strong relationships with key agency personnel, trading teams and marketing directors.• Proficient in drafting clear and concise reports for the senior management team.• Demonstrate the ability to conduct market, consumer, and competitive research that assists in developing advertising strategies for the business.• Setting sales objectives, coaching and performance management of the sales team.• Identify emerging markets and market shifts and devise sales strategy to address.• Ensure all client engagement is carefully prepared and executed to a very high standard.• Work closely with the cross functional team to develop new ideas and products to bring to market.• Set Independent News & Media apart from its competitors as innovators and leaders in the publishing business.Experience and Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years + in the media business.• Strong understanding of the media landscape, digital advertising, market trends and best practice.• Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills to ensure client retention and new business development.• Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of the media industry.• Experience in leading a sales team.• Proven track record in achieving sales targets.• Extensive knowledge in the monetization of digital advertising business.• Deep understanding of media buying and advertising technology.If you have any questions on this role please contact HR@independent.ie.
